Class C-1Pierce opened up a 21-7 halftime lead and cruised to the win in Pierce. Eric Koehlmoos rushed for 101 yards on 20 carries and scored three touchdowns for Pierce, while Tony Lauters added 118 yards on the ground. Chadron quarterback Jonn McLain threw for 258 yards and two touchdowns.

PIERCE 42, CHADRON 14:

EWING 36, HAYES CENTER 27: Beau Fry rushed for 129 yards and three touchdowns to lead Ewing to the win in Hayes Center. Ewing took a 21-6 halftime lead and cruised. “It’s hard to describe what happened tonight,” Hayes Center coach Scott Jorgensen said. “Ewing is a very good football team and put us in a position that most of these kids have never been in—behind at halftime. However, our determination, will and desire brought us back into the game, which is a unique characteristic of this team... they will fight until the very end.” Brett Kaczor finished with 157 yards passing for Ewing.

HUMPHREY ST. FRANCIS 52, ELGIN 29: Matt Korus rushed for 209 yards on 39 carries to lead Humphrey St. Francis to the win in Elgin. The Flyers outscored Elgin 30-7 in the second half after the game was tied 22-22 at halftime. Tad Henkenius scored to touchdowns and had 26 tackles for Elgin.
