OMAHA — The Millard South Revenge Tour continues.

The Patriots avenged a regular-season loss for the second time in the state playoffs with a 24-0 win against Omaha Creighton Prep at Caniglia Field on Saturday in the Class A semifinals.

“When these kids saw the brackets, we didn’t have to do much motivating,” Millard South coach Andy Means said. “We told them, you don’t get many do-overs in life. Our kids executed tonight and did an outstanding job.”

The victory gives Millard South (9-3) a shot at Millard West, the team that handed the Patriots their other loss this year. Millard South got its first piece of revenge with a 36-26 win against Elkhorn in the opening round of the playoffs.

When Prep and Millard South  met in the regular season, Prep prevailed 21-17. However, the Patriots dominated this meeting. Millard South finished with 360 yards on offense, while limiting Prep to 235.

“We controlled the line of scrimmage more both on offense and defense than we did the first game,” Means said. “They are still a great team and we had to play all 48 minutes to win it.”

Junior quarterback Bronson Marsh led the way, running for 124 yards and threw for 129. He also accounted for all of the Patriots’ touchdowns, running for two and hooking up with tight end Bryan Holdcroft for the other.

As efficient as Millard South was on offense was, the defense was just as impressive.  Prep moved the ball into Patriot territory five times, as deep as the 19-yard line, but never got on the scoreboard.

Millard South will be making its first appearance in the finals since finishing second in 1996.

“It feels great, but we got one left,” Means said. “The kids aren’t quite satisfied yet.”

" There's something special about this team that can only equivalent to the team of '06, or if u wanna go beyond that then the faith in the Huskers.

They play as a whole, as one unit, as brothers, as a family and will come back to Omaha with a state title.

Good luck boys.
Always a family.
Never forgive, Never forget. "
