Police say a 26-year-old Lincoln man cranked off four rounds from a shotgun to try to scare off some kids from his home in northwest Lincoln.

Sgt. Don Scheinost said at 10:50 p.m. Saturday police were called into the area of Northwest Seventh Street and Fletcher Avenue on several calls of shots fired.

An officer walking in the area to see what he could see was approached by Charles J. Holan, of 730 W. Burt Drive, who told him about some kids in the area.

The officer found the kids, and it led police back to Holan. Scheinost said Holan had cranked off four rounds from a shotgun to scare off the kids, who had been hanging out near his property.

He said it didn’t appear anything had been hit by the shots.

Holan was arrested on suspicion of discharging a weapon in city limits.
