Friday was expected to be mostly cloudy, with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms and a high near 90.

There was a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, with a low around 69. Forecasters said some of the storms could be severe, with large hail and damaging wind the primary hazards.

There is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday, with a high near 91. A chance of strong to severe thunderstorms continues into Saturday night.

Forecasters say the overall weather pattern isn’t expected to change at least through midweek next week. There will be periodic chances for thunderstorms, with the possibility of severe storms, especially into the late afternoon and evening hours.
